City Manager Revels Record Tax Slash Despite High Budget

Cambridge City Manager John J. Curry '19 has announced a 1953 tax rate cut of $4.20.

The new tax rate will be $48.60 as compared with last year's $52,30. Curry said it was the biggest slash in the history of Cambridge's 107-year incorporation.

The cut was effected despite the fact that the budget this year is $14,221,600, an increse of $719,000 over last year's budget.
