May Sarton, Briggs-Copeland Instructor of English Composition, has been awarded the $3,000 Lucy Martin Donnelly fellowship for 1953-54 from Bryn Mawr College.

Miss Sarton is also the recipient of the 1952 Reynolds Lyric Award of the Poetry Society of America, and the author of the recent novel, "A Shower of Summer Days."

Miss Sarton is the daughter of George Sarton, professor of the History of Science, emeritus.
