Masters Rule Out Jubilee Petition To Rotate Dance

House masters have turned down a Freshman Jubilee petition to rotate the annual Friday night spring dance among Houses on a year-to-year basis, David C. Baum '56, Jubilee publicity chairman, said yesterday.

At the same time, Baum revealed that Freshman Dean von State, who presented the plea to the masters, had arranged with John H. Finely, Jr. '25, master of Eliot House, to hold the dance at Eliot this year.

Union Dinner Due

The masters met with Von Stade and agreed it would be "unadvisable and inconvenient" to continue the practice of holding the Friday night dance in one of the Houses in the future, Baum said. Von Stade made final arrangements with Eliot yesterday afternoon.

Plans to hold a restaurant-type dinner in another House preceding the dance have definitely been abandoned, Baum added. Instead, dinner will be served in the Union.
