Fencing Team Takes 11th at New Haven

After a fast start which saw them gain a fourth-place tie in opening competition, the Crimson fencing team slumped to an 11th place finish in the Intercollegiate Fencing Championships at New Haven Saturday. Navy won the over-all team championship.

Bob McConaughy led the Crimson in the saber, taking five out of 11 bouts. Harry Ziel, handicapped by an injured hand, salvaged two wins, while Bob Marsetta and Dave Kenney won single matches.

In the foil, Walton Rawls won three bouts and Jan Jertson and John Hamel each took three.
