Possum-bility?

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Walt Kelly, creator of "Pogo," the possum from Okefenokee County, nominates this dignified man to be the next president of Harvard. Kelly describes him as "a composite of past and future."

"I've used Mr. Conant's general head shape, a popular present-day size and evidently of sturdy construction--also some of his hair, one of his ears and the set of his mouth; Mr. Lowell's mustache, one of his eyes, his chin and his cellar (and I have no reason to doubt the one in the photo--that the CRIMSON sent--is his own, contrary to rumors from New Haven); Mr. Eliot's nose for nostalgic reasons, one eye and his virile hirsuteness.

Nose for the past

"With these features in combination, I believe you'll have a man who will escape the notice of the police, who will have at least one eye to the future, a nose for the past, an ear to the present and my own personal necktie, which I hereby contribute to the office."
