Recipients of two University prizes have been announced by Registrar Sargent Kennedy '28.

David Mormin '56 has been awarded the Elizabeth Wilder Prize for 1953-53 has been awarded to Burton H. Klein '40 for his thesis entitled "Germany's Economic Preparations for War."

Mermin's prize, unspecified, will come from the Wilder fund. Klein will receive $500 after his manuscript has been received by the University Press.

Klein's thesis was written as part of his program toward a Ph.D. degree.

It was also announced that the Carl Shurz prize will not be awarded for the present academic year.
