Few Come to First Baseball Session at Briggs Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Only a faithful few turned out for the first baseball practice of the year at Briggs Cage yesterday afternoon. But lack of numbers didn't hamper the spirit, as a second-string infield pulled off the year's first triple play.

With the bases loaded in a practice game, Paul Crowley, varsity football end, and a possible second base starter, lined out to short. The short spot fired to third, and a relay to second completed the play.

Some 25 hopefuls were on hand, not including several key men. Paul Murphy, last year's freshman shortstop, is ineligible, while last year's varsity third baseman Ray Maosaka has too heavy a lap schedule to play this spring.

Two hockey players, Wait Greeley, and Dick Clasby, were resting after the season's end.
