George L MacDonald, Jr. 55, Eliot and Marblehead, Mass is the first student to be awarded the new Frank B McQuesten Memorial scholarship. The award is for the current academic year.

MacDonald maintained scholarship level grades during his freshman year while playing freshman football and baseball. He played on the varsity football team this season.

The scholarship has been established to provide financial aid to College students with preference to residents of Marblehead.

MacDonald was captain and catcher of the freshman baseball squad. He was a substitute fullback behind John Culver and Jerry Blintz on the football team.
