Slichter Sees Continued Cycle In High Wages, Business Costs

At a Public Utilities Commission hearing in Boston, Summer Slichter, economist and Lamont University Professor, testified that he foresaw continued high wages and other business costs for the next few years.

In a hearing on the New England Telephone Company's petition for higher rates, Slichter said he did not think that the present trend will follow the post-Civil War and post-World War I cycles.
