Symington to Address 'Cliffe At Graduation

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Stuart Symington, recently elected Senator from Missouri, will deliver the Radcliffe commencement address, President Wilbur K. Jordan announced yesterday.

Symington last fall resigned his position as Chairman of the National Security Resources Board to run for the Senate. A Yale graduate of the Class of '23, he was Secretary of the Air Force before assuming the NSRB post.

This choice follows the tradition of picking a well-known speaker related to an Annex student. Jane Symington, his daughter-in-law, is receiving her M.A. in Biology this June.

Outdoor Commencement

Plans for an outdoor graduation are still under consideration by President Jordan. The proposed site has not yet been disclosed officially. Seniors were overwhelmingly in favor of the changes proposed by Adele Gilmore at a special class meeting last night.

The main changes are innovation of a beach party, a faculty-parent tea, and entertainment for the families during the Formal.

A class committee, composed of the student government president, vice-president, and present class officers, will nominate the class marshals who are in charge of commencement week activities. These are honorary positions and the girls do not run for them. Current class officers are automatically on the committee, and additional nominations may be made by a petition of ten signers.
