Crimson Fencers Beat B.C. For Opening Win of Season

Crimson fencers won their opening match of the season last night by defeating Boston University, 16 to 11, at the Indoor Athletic Building.

Outstanding performers for the Crimson included Bob McConaughy and Harry Ziel in the saber and Les Scheror in the opee. Each went undefeated in three bouts. Captain George McNair, John Hamel, and Jan Jertson took two out of three matches, McNair in the opee and Hamel and Jortson in the foil. Steve Chandler salvaged one out of three in the foil, Bob Narsetta dropped three bouts in the saber, and Paul Forand lost three in the Opee.
