Senator Leverett Saltonstall's part in the confirmation of President Conant as German High Commissioner is the subject of an angry resolution filed last night in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. It will be presented to the House today.
Robert F. Murphy (D-Malden), Democratic floor leader, filed the resolution condemning "without reservation the behavior of Senator Saltonstall" for taking the lead "in a surprise, sneak move to have the name of Dr. Conant brought onto the floor of the Senate when only six senators, and all of these of one party, were present."
The resolution asks the Senate to censure Saltonstall for "unspeakable misconduct" and to remove him from the chairmanship of the Armed Services Committee.
