Freshman Sextet Defeats B.U., 4-3 In Overtime Play

Bill Allen's goal from the blue line gave the Yardling sextet a 4, to 3 victory ever the Boston University freshmen in a sudden-death overtime period in the Boston Arena last night.

After B.U. had netted two quick goals in the first three minutes of the opening period and added a third score ten minutes later, Coach John White's team rebounded to tie the score with Ed Burlingame tallying the third Crimson goal in the final minutes of the second period.

Tom Crowley had scored the team's first goal at 9:57 with Burlingame assisting to keep the Yardling in the game during the first period. Tom Worthen immediately put the freshman within one goal of a tie in the second period, netting the Yardling's second goal on a pass from John Hamlen at 6:45.

Socroless Third Period

After an evenly-matched, scoreless third period, the teams went into the sudden-death overtime. Allen scored his blue line shot at 3:28.

The win was the Yardlings' first in two starts. The had lost to B.C. last Friday, 8 to 0. The next scheduled freshman game is on January 13 at Belmont Hill School.
