Carroll Lowenstein, Crimson tall back who passed for five touchdowns and ran for a sixth against Davidson last Saturday, was on the nomination list for the Associated Press Back of the Week. Iamar McHan of Arkansas received the sportswriters' top nomination.
Lowenstein replaced injured Dick Clasby after nine minutes of the first period. Four minutes and 46 seconds later he ran for the first Crimson TD. He completed six of seven passes, five for scores. The final score was 42-6.
