'57 Smoker Nominees Start Petitions Today

Nominating positions for Freshman Smoke Committee candidates may be submitted today to Peter Stearns '57, chairman of the election committee, in Wold 21.

All petitions must be in by 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2. Each must carry the name and address of the candidate and the signatures of 25 of his classmates. The eight-man smoker committee is in charge of procuring entertainment and beer for the annual freshman stag party.

Voting will take place December 9 and 10 in Dudley and only on the 10th in the Union. Ballots will be counted on the proportional representation system.

Campaigning will begin a week from today and continue through Dec. 7; all signs must be removed from the Union and Dudley one day previous to elections.
