Varsity football letterman yesterday elected J. Timothy Anderson '55 of Bemus Point, N. Y., and Eliot House captain of the 1954 team. The successor to Richard J. Clasby '54 is a two-year letterman at guard and was called by Coach Lioyd Jordan "one of the best lineman I've ever coached." "He'll make a grand leader," the Crimson Coach added.

Anderson's performance this fall was particularly impressive, because he was out of school the entire spring semester of 1953 with yellow jaundice. He contracted the Illness last Feb. 1, after wrestling four matches for the varsity. Also a lacrosse player his freshman year, Anderson was in bed for ten weeks with the condition and spent another month recuperating at home.

The captain of the 1951 Yardling football team began a slow recovery last spring with a few rounds of golf. "I surprised myself by coming back. I couldn't even climb stairs for a while," he reported.

Asked about the prospects for next season, Anderson commented, "I think we'll be ready; we've got good depth coming up."

Before entering the College, Anderson attended Phillips Academy at Andover, where he was a co-captain of both the football and wrestling teams.
