Dick Clasby, the varsity's versatile tailback who is much more proficient at gaining big yardage than making all-American teams, received the first honor of the year yesterday.
The United Press named the Harvard captain to its all Eastern team, and then complimented Lloyd Jordan on his backfield depth by putting former Captain Carroll Lowenstein--up to today Clasby's replacement--on the second team.
Sophomore Bill Meigs, considered the outstanding Crimson line-man in many years, was also named to the second team. Lowenstein, a very fine passer has played tailback, while Meigs is a guard.
