Cornell and the University of Massachusetts will replace Colgate and Davidson on the varsity football schedule next fall, W. Henry Johnston, H.A.A. publicity Director, announced last night.
The Crimson will open the 1954 season here on Oct. 2 against the University of Massachusetts, moving Ohio University down to the position formerly held by Davidson. Cornell will replace Colgate in the second game slot, with the game played at Ithaca.
The schedule: Oct. 2, University of Massachusetts; 9, at Cornell; 16, Columbia; 23, Dartmouth; 30, Ohio; Nov. 6, at Princeton; 13, Brown; 20, Yale.
