Despite the waves of "reductions in force," students may still qualify for the Government Civil Service Register. To qualify applicants must pass the Junior Management Examination on Dec 5. Applications for the exam must be filed at Littauer Hall by Nov 12.
Designed to pick the most promising candidates for top positions in government, the Junior Management Program is one arm of a three-part selections process which includes recommendations and a February interview.
The exam is the most decisive factor in picking candidates.
Starting Civil Service pay for college graduates without government training is $3400. With training, the rate is $4,200. Men called into military service are automatically restored to their position on the Register after their discharge.
The first Radcliffe girl to get on the Register was the former Miss Nancy Barrow '53.
