The MTA plans to build a parking let in North Cambridge on the site of the old North Cambridge carbarns, it was learned last night.
The lot will accommodate 175 cars and is being built for use of out of town motorists who do not wish to park in Boston.
It will be located two miles from the Square. MTA officials gave no indication last night whether the lot would be open for Harvard students.
