Three Teams May Play Yale in Bermuda; Hockey Team to Spend Vacation in West

Six Will Meet Four Top Western Teams

The hockey team will meet four of the West's top sextets--in their own rinks--over Christmas vacation, Coach Cooney Weiland announced last night.

The trip West to play Minnesota, Colorado, Denver, and Michigan State will take up the entire Christmas vacation from Dec. 22 to Jan. 4. It will exclude the Crimson from participation in the local Beanpot Tourney which it won over Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern during the holidays last year.

Denied a trip West late last winter to compete in the NCAA hockey finals, the squad will open its Western seige against the team it would have meet in those finals--Minnesota--on Dec. 22.

Captain Normie Wood's team will fly to Minneapolis for the opening game, then will move 100 miles north and meet the Minnesotians again on the 23rd in the new rink at Hibbing, Minn.

Double games against Colorado College the University of Denver, and Michigan State follow before the Crimson returns to Boston on Jan. 5.

Practice Starts Nov. 26

Welland expects to start practice on the new Soldiers Field rink by Nov. 15. "That will give the team at least two weeks' practice before it opens against Providence College at Providence on Dec. 8," he noted. The sextet will also meet Boston College, Boston University, and Northeastern before taking off for the West.

Although the date for the Beanpot Tournament is unset, Weiland doubted that his team would be in shape to play between January 5 and 9. The Crimson resumes its schedule against Dartmouth at Dartmouth on the ninth.
