Coach Bob Margarita's freshman team marched to a 6 to 0 victory over Worcester Academy on Soldiers Field Saturday in its first game of the season.
Quarterback Bob Hastings carried the ball across is the second quarter for the Yardlings TD. The score climaxed an extended assault, which included Jim Joelin's smash through left tackle moving the ball to the Worcester four yard line from the 24.
Paul Abrahamian bulled to the one, and Hastings then carried twice, scoring from one foot out on fourth down. Abrahamian missed the try for point.
The freshmen threatened in the first quarter, rolling to the losers' one-foot mark. But that time, a fumble in the '57 backfield, recovered by Worcester, halted the attack.
A week previous Worcester opened its season by holding a fairly strong Brown freshman team to a nothing to nothing tie.
Next game for the freshman team is scheduled October 24 at Hanover against Dartmouth.
