Freshman Bill Morris sped to a new Yardling record in the crosscountry Tuesday in 20 minutes, 12 seconds, breaking the mark set by Dave Ingle in 1951. Coach Bill McCurdy rates his '57 team "much better" than last year's squad.

Captain Hal Gerry of the varsity covered the same distance in 10 minutes 27 seconds.
