Five students from Eliot and Kirkland Houses were hospitalized in Stillman infirmary yesterday, the victims of food poisoning following Tuesday's meal of chicken a la king.
Stillman merely identified the ailment as "gastronomic" and refused to place the blame for the sudden outburst of stomach trouble on any particular cause.
Gastronomic disorders struck literally dozens of others from both Kirkland and Eliot. Most eases, however, were not reported to the infirmary. Almost all students insisted that the illness followed Tuesday night's big meal.
This was the first major outbreak this year of any disturbance caused by the food. Dining hall officials had no comment when contacted yesterday but indicated they may investigate the situation.
