Crimson varsity and freshman track teams remained undefeated when they crushed the Boston College squads in Saturday's meet at Briggs Cage. The varsity won 82 2/3 to 26 1/3, while the Yardlings won 92 to 10.
In the varsity meet the Eagles took only one first place, winning the 40-yard dash.
Bob Mello had a good day for the Crimson, winning the pole vault with 13 feet, and the broad jump with 21 feet, 5 inches, and taking second in the high jump. Other individual winners were Bob Rittenburg in the hurdles, Alan Howe in the 600, Hal Gerry with a 10:04 two-mile run, Bob Curran with a 52 feet, 10 inch hammer throw, and Renny Little with a 2:24 thousand.
This was the fourth consecutive win for the varsity, and the second for the Yardlings. Both teams showed depth against the relatively weak B.C. squads, who looked poor in their opening performances. B.C. did not have official workouts before the vacation, and turned up out of condition.
