University Professor Zechariah Chafee '13, who during the summer was attacked by Senator Joseph R. McCarthy (R-Wis.) will soon be subjected to another blast because of his work on civil liberties.
Chafee was one of seven persons whom McCarthy labeled as "dangerous to America" and "complete dupes." Yesterday the Boston Post indicated in an editorial that it would soon resurrect McCarthy's charges against him. The Post said it will dedicate "a lengthy editorial to Professor Chafee, whose past associations and views are worthy of the most earnest consideration."
The Post made the statement in a front page editorial attack against the stocking of a pro-communist magazine in the Boston Public Library. So far the Librarian has refused to ban it.
