Princeton Students Make More Money, to Get More Aid to Offset Tuition Hike

More Princeton men made more money over the summer than ever before, according to that university's bureau of student aid, but there's a hitch. Princeton tuition this year will be higher than ever before.

Minot C. Morgan, director of the aid bureau, said net summer earnings per man increased $100 over the 1951 average. The 1000 tiger men who worked this summer earned an average of $400 apiece.

Last spring, Princeton, following Yale and other colleges, raised its tuition $150, effective beginning this term. Tuition now stands at $750.

The university will set another record this year by distributing an all time high of $429,000 in outright grants. This, plus an average expected increase of 100 in earnings of men working during the school year, is expected to offset the tuition increase.
