Varsity and Yard Tennis Teams Play Black Knights at West Point

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Gratident after is eighth consecutive victory, the varsity tennis squad left Cambridge yesterday afternoon for West Point, where it will take on a fair Army team at 2 p.m. today.

Meanwhile, the freshmen A and B tennis teams play at Exeter. The A team is and-feated so far the season against prep-school and freshman competition.

Captain Charlie Ufford will play first man in singles against the Cadets. The fall Crimson senior needed only two sets in both singles and doubles to wipe his Davil-on College opponents off the courts in Monday's match, won 6 to 3 by Harvard.

Following Ufford will be John Rauh. Art French, Gene Mann, Dave Watts, and Don Bossart, Raub, Watts, and Bossart all won their matches against the strong Southern club.

Probable doubles starters will be Bill Goodman, Terry King, Steve Sonnabend, and Herb Stone. Because Army is rated as only fair this season. Coach Jack Barnaby may have the opportunity to use his second three doubles combinations.

Haegler Returns

For the freshmen, Captain Alex Haegler will play first singles for the first time in a week, after recovering from the measles. Ed Koerner, who also was out of action for a few matches earlier this season will play two, and Geoff Ball, Mike Levinson, Bill Wister, and Bob Crouch will play in the other four singles spots for the 'A' squad.

Freshman Coach Corey Wynn is also taking down ten men to play in the 'B' match. The lineup is not yet certain for all these positions, but the perennial New England prep school champions are not expected to have an unusually strong seeon dsquad.
