Two graduate students have been awarded the Susan Anthony Potter Prizes in Comparative Literature for 1951 to 1952, it was announced yesterday.
First prize of $100 went to David F. Wheeler 2G of Cambridge for his essay on "Art. Influence of Design Upon: An Essay on Finnezan's Wake." John L. Bishop 5G of Grays River, Washington, received second prize of $50 for his essay entitled "A Chinese Drama in Eighteenth Century Europe."
These annual prizes are open to both graduates and undergraduates in addition. Peter W. Kilborn '55 won the $59 Jeremy Belknap Prize for the best French composition written by a freshman. The Lioyd McKim Garrison Prize--$128 and a silver medal--went to Gerald P. Fitzgerald '52 for his poem untitled. "In Praise of Wisdom. A Poem in Three Parts: For a Graduation."
