House Oarsmen Ready For Elimination Races

House crews popped into prominence on the house athletic front yesterday, as they engaged in preliminary races for the House championship races coming up next Monday.

Eliot continued to lead the oarsmen, taking a big victory over Leverett and buddy in the first race of the afternoon, a triangular regatta. In the second triangular meet, Dunster trimmed Lowell and Adams by a small margin.

In other races, Winthrop's crew, the defending House titlists, edged out Kirkland by a length. The Deacons, a rugged, well coordinated crew, had already taken the measure of the Elephants earlier in the season.

Today's races marked the third part of the four day elimination series. Tomorrow, the last trials will be run on the Charles before the finals.

On Friday, a race between the four crews in the House second division will pick one winner to be entered in Monday's finals.
