Favored Varsity Ten Battles N.H., Sawyer May Play

Barring an Act of God (or a complete defensive collapse) the varsity lacrosse team will end its one-game losing streak today. Coach Bruce Munro's men play New Hampshire at Durham, and should be able to top a Wildcat team that has lost to Tufts and M.I.T. The Crimson whipped both of these squads easily.

Adding to the varsity's chances is the medical department's discovery that midfielder Al Sawyer may be ready to start today. A painful back injury has kept him sidelined for the past two weeks.

"If Sawyer comes back," says Munro, "then we'll be able to have a good third midfield."

The Crimson lost to Dartmouth Saturday with only two midfields; the return of Sawyer would eliminate this problem. Munro thinks he would then team Hank Wood and Jim Telfer with Sawyer as the third unit.

Goalie Dick Thomas and midfielder Skip Baldwin are back in first-class shape, so the Crimson appears physically well set for this one.
