Nine Faces First Place Bruins at Providence

The Crimson nine, still in fourth place in the Eastern League after Saturday's split with Yale, heads for Providence today for its second game with league-leading Brown. If the team can conquer its bobbling fits, which gave the Bruins a 4 to 3 win here last Wednesday, it will stand a good chance to knock Brown off the top rung in the Eastern League ladder.

Coach Stuffy McInnis is not yet sure of his starting pitcher, but the nod may go to lefty Rube Webb, who faced the Bruins last week, allowing only seven hits and two earned runs. If Webb does not start, fast-baller Bob Ward will be the choice, McInnis said.

The Bruins will use the same lineup that opened here last week, including ace pitcher Ken Moffat, a right hander who looked good in his previous outing against the Crimson. Since that time, the Brown team has managed to whip Rhode Island State, in its only game, while Harvard has won one and lost one, against the Elis, a team which Brown has beaten twice. The Crimson will also field the same team that has played the last three games.
