Air Force R.O.T.C. Juniors who have elected the Flight Operations phase of the program will have a taste of flying this summer, the Air Force announced yesterday.
The five cadets will become familiar with the Air-Force and its various operations functions, particularly the aircraft and the aircrew. It is planned to have them prepare flight plans, take Link trainer flights. Study meteorology, learn control tower operation, and actually handle the controls of a plane in flight.
During the four week summer encampment at the air base, the cadets will live as members of the Air Force. They will be issued uniforms, eat in military dining halls, and he welcome at base facilities.
