Dunster Baseball, Softball, Golf Teams Win, Tennis Squad Loses

Dunster athletes dominated House intramural activity yesterday, picking up victories in baseball, softball, and golf and a tie in tennis. House crew was the only sport in which the Funsters failed to take first laurels.

Sophomore Ron Peyton pitched the win for Dunster over Adams in baseball, striking out 11 men and giving up five scattered hits for one tally while his teammates, led by Earl Trucker batting in two with a base hit, pilled up four runs. The only other House baseball game, Leverett against Eliot, was postponed.

In softball, Dunster, slaughtered the Gold Coasters, 11 to 1. Donn Spencer was the winning pitcher and Pete Walker led the hitting attack with four hard drives.

Undefeated Leverett picked up its sixth consecutive win in softball by beating Eliot, 10 to 3. Lou Chizer handled the pitching chore for the Bunnies.

Golf Matches

Golf action at the Dedham Country Club saw Dunster pick up its third victory of the day over Adams by a 5 to 0 score. Other House matches saw Eliot beat Leverett, 5 to 0; Kirkland top Winthrop, 4 to 1; and Dudley crush Lowell, 3 1/2 to 1/2.

Dunster's Wis Wood and Leverett's Paul Garrigue will settle a 3 to 3 tennis tie between the teams today. Kirkland tennis players routed the Gold Coasters, 6 to 0.

Crew Races

In three preliminary crew races over a three-quarter mile distance, Kirkland edged Eliot with Dunster third; Winthrop defeated Lowell and Dudley, and Leverett downed Adams by six lengths.

Hampered by a poor start, Eliot never quite caught up as the Deacons edged them by two seats to win the race. Kirkland turned in a winning time of 4:45.2 against the Elephants' heartbreaking 4:46.

Winthrop defeated the Bellboys and Commuters with a winning time of 5:04 and Leverett got off to a smooth start and was never headed by Adams.
