McCloy Will Give Godkin Lectures In January 1953

United states High Commissioner for Germany, John. J. McCloy, will deliver next year's Godkin Lectures, Dean Edward S. Mason f the Graduate School of Public Administration announced yesterday.

McCloy, a graduate of the Law School in 1921, has been U.S. High Commissioner in Germany since 1949. He served as a Captain in the Field Artillery in World War I, received the Distinguished Service Medal and was made a Grand Officer in the French Legion of Merit. A successful lawyer in New York for 20 years, he was appointed Assistant Secretary of War by President Roosevelt in 1941, and held this position throughout the war. He became president of the World Bank in 1947.
