Band Faces Busy Week of Banquet, Pair of Concerts

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Members of the University Band start their busiest week of the spring come Tuesday, with a Boston concert for the Associated Exhibitors of the National Education Association at Mechanics Building.

On tap for the rest of the week are the annual Band banquet, scheduled for the Union Thursday night, and a concert for the Harvard Club of Quincy in Quincy next Saturday. In addition, there'll be the usual rehearsal at Sanders Theatre Wednesday night.

"If anyone wants more to do," Band manager Dana M. Hastings '53 said yesterday "there's still plenty of work at the Varsity Club basement." Bandsmen have been renovating the basement for the last two months, and the Band is scheduled to occupy its new quarters there in about two weeks.

Bill Cunningham, Boston sports columnist and radio commentator, will head the list of speakers for the banquet. Associate Dean Watson, Conductor Malcolm H. Holmes '28, and Eric Cutler '40, president of the Varsity Club, will also speak.
