While "Ted Williams Memory Books" attracted local signatures, the Marine Captain himself, and all his Red Sox teammates, went through a two-hour drill yesterday in Briggs Cage.

Rain has kept the club inactive since Thursday. Williams, particularly, is anxious to work out, in order to get into shape to play against the Tigers on Wednesday--Ted Williams Day.

The books, posted in such diverse establishments as Felix' and Cowie Hall, are symbolic of Williams' tremendous personal following.
