Big Green Skiers Trounce Crimson

Determined to better their pitiful one and four post-war record against the Crimson, 19 Dartmouth skiers sped to victory Saturday in the annual Harvard-Dartmouth Slalom on Mt. Washington.

The Big Green won the ski team's newly-donated cup with an average time-score of 882.2 seconds, as the Crimson totalled 958.5.

Dartmouth's Wally Ashnault took the individual honors as he shot down "Hillman's Highway" in 43.6 seconds. Ski team Captain John Hauser followed with 46.6, and Dartmouth's Olympic skier Brooks Dodge finished third with 47.

The Ski Club elected its officers for next year last night. They are: President, Edmund K. Summersby '54 of Summit, New Jersey, and Claverly Hall; secretary, Stephen S. Walker '54 of Concord, Mass., and Winthrop House; and treasurer, Daryl R. Hawkins '54 of Seattle, Washington, and Dunster House.
