Andy Ward turned in his second fine pitching performance of the freshman baseball season. Saturday afternoon when he shut out Exeter, at Exeter, 2 to 0, on three hits. Ward, a big righthander who pitched a two hitter in his first outing against Boston Teacher College, had little trouble at Exeter, striking out 11 And walking only three.

Centerfielder Bill Chauncey got the Yardlings off to a 1 to 0 third inning lead when he walked and stole second. Chauncey scored on third baseman Joe Conzelman's bunt and the Exeter first baseman's error.

Hank Pildner set up the final run in the eighth inning with a triple.
