Harriman Club Begins At College; Hopes for University's Approval

Another political organization, the Harriman for President Club, is forming at the College and will seek official approval as soon as enough faculty members give it their support.

According to Martin Needler '54, who began to organize the group last week, there are enough members at present to obtain a University charter. So far, one faculty member, Joseph C. Palamountain, Jr., instructor in Government, has agreed to support the club.

Support of one additional faculty member is required for official recognition. Needler said that the group will try to contact either Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. '38, associate professor of History, or Samuel H. Beer, associate professor of Government.

He commented that "Liberals of New Deal complexion should rally behind this man."
