Harvard Theatre Group officials yesterday announced the substitution of George Bernard Shaw's "Candida" for Shakespeare's "Measure for Measure" as their Regatta Weekend production.
Problems arising from a large cast and end-of-term academic pressures forced the cancellation of the Shakespeare comedy, according to H.T.G. officials.
The Shaw production, with a smaller cast, will be presented five times over Regatta weekend.
Joanna Brown '52 will play the title "ole, while Theodore Thieme '52 and Theodore Gershuny '54 will play March-banks and Morel respectively. Gershuny will also double as managing director for the new production.
