"April Showers," an informal 'Cliffe freshman dance to be held Saturday, April 26, highlights plans for the annual freshman class weekend.
A special dinner in the dormitories for freshman and their dates will begin the weekend activities on Friday night. Following this, Idler, the 'Cliffe dramatic society, will present a performance of Claire Booth Luce's play. "The Women."
Saturday's dance is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 12 p.m. in Moors, with Ken Reeves' orchestra providing the music. A Sunday afternoon picnic at Waverly Oaks will conclude the weekend Each couple will supply its own food. A baseball game is also planned for that afternoon.
Phoebo Stone, '53 class president, is in charge of planning the events. Joan Foosheo '55 and Charlotte DeMonte '55 are chairmen of the dance decoration and publicity committees, respectively.
Miss Stone hinted that the dance will feature a surprise event.
The tradition of Freshman Weekend was originated four years ago by the present senior class. This year is the first time that the Saturday night dance will be held in the dorms.
