If Abby Smith '54 had been at the 'Cliffe Grant-in-Aid Fund auction the could have bid for her brand new English bike.

She discovered that the chain binding the black Raleigh bike to a rack in Moors Hall basement had been sawed through. The janitor informed her that the bike had been confiscated, along with several other unclaimed ones stored in the basement and had been auctioned off in Cabot Hall November 27.
