Dick Button romped to his seventh straight National Figure Skating title at Colorado Springs, Colorado, last night, and tied the national record to boot. The old record was set by Roger Fleming of Boston in 1928 to '34.
Button, also holder of five world and two Olympic championships, out-distanced Jimmy Grogan of Colorado for the crown, with his performance in the five free-skating figures last night. Grogan was only nine points down at the end of Thursday evening's events.
Dudley Richards, Eliot House sophomore and National Junior Champion in 1951 took fourth, behind Hayes Jerkins of Cleveland.
