Food wastage in the Houses and the Union definitely decreased during the month of February, William A. Heaman, Manager of Dining Halls, announced this week.

Heaman attributed the drop to a combination of increased student cooperation and savings resulting from the new restrictions on servings of milk and juice.

The plea for student cooperation and the announcement that milk and juice servings would be restricted to two glasses came from Administrative Vice President Edward F. Reynolds '15 on January 14. At that time he also announced the board raise from $14 to $14.50.

Heaman stated that the students have responded very well and said he wants "to thank them for their cooperation." He added that he did not foresee any further restrictions, at least this spring.

However, both he and Reynolds cautioned that the full situation would not be known until the final figures come out at the end of the year. If they show a loss at that time, Reynolds warned, the University might have to consider other restrictions, possibly on seconds.

Reynolds also cautioned that if the loss is large enough the University might have to raise the board rates again.
