Watts, a junior, beat out Captain Jim Bacon for the second slot in this year's lineup, behind National Intercollegiate Champion Charlie Ufford. He played number six for most of last year, and on the freshman team in 1950, held down the number two position, behind Ufford.

A St. Paul's graduate. Watts was ill for part of this year, and didn't play in the Yale match. However, he snapped back well in the National Singles, losing to runner-up Rick Squires of Williams in the third round. A semi-finalist in the University Squash tourney now going on, he is favored to meet Ufford in the finals. The tourney, open to faculty undergraduate and graduates has been dominated by the squash team.

Watts is also slated for a high spot on the tennis team. He played number three for the varsity last year, and will probably take the second position this spring.
