Varsity fencers yesterday elected George C. McNair '53, of Kirkland House and Spokane, Washington, to captain the 1952-53 team.
Fencing epee, McNair had a record of 17 wins and seven losses in intercollegiate matches this season. This was McNair second year of varsity competition. He was a letterman on last year's squad.
This year's team captained by Eric Sollee '52 finished the season with a win over Yale to wind up with a seven and one record, losing only to Columbia in dual meet competition.
McNair is one of three men going to Yale March 28 and 29 for the National Intercollegiate Fencing Championships. Also competing in New Haven will be Sollee in the foil and Harry Ziel in the saber.
