Varsity swimmers yesterday elected Ronald E. Huebsch '53 of Darien, Connecticut, and Leverett House to captain the 1952-53 squad.
A graduate of Exeter, Huebsch is a freestyler who has appeared in the 50 and 100-yard sprints, the 300-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Huebsch swam with the 400-yard relay squad that finished in a dead heat with Dartmouth for second place in the Eastern intercollegiate finals at Yale on Friday, but was judged third. The same combination of Huebsch, John Millard, John McNamara, and Dave Hedberg broke a varsity record against Army earlier in the season, with a time of Huebsch is the third consecutive Leverett House resident to gain the title, Bob Stroud, this year's captain, and Bob Berke, who led the 1950-51 swimmers both of them freestylers, are also Leverett men.
