Square Barbers Ponder Hike In Cost of Haircuts, Shaves

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Owners of Harvard Square barber shops have not yet decided whether they will follow the example of most Boston and suburban shops and raise haircut prices to $1.15 next week.

Barbers contacted yesterday said the decision will be made at the next meeting of the Harvard Square Master Barbers' Association. The meeting will be held either this evening or on Thursday evening.

The Boston Master Barbers voted on Sunday to raise prices. An organization spokesman said that "at least 75 percent" of the 754 shops in the Greater Boston area would comply. Shaves will be hiked to 75 cents.
