Olympic Soccer Trials Held in New York City

Semi-final tryouts for the U.S. '52 Olympic soccer squad were held in New York on Sunday.

An Eastern team, consisting of chosen participants from these semi-finals, will go to St. Louis early in April for the National tryouts. Selections for this sqaud will be announced shortly by a committee made up of representatives of the American Soccer League and collegiate soccer coaches.

Sole Crimson representative in the tryouts was fullback Charlie Ufford who played on the Eastern college all-star team. Ufford is the recent winner of the national intercollegiate squash championship and Crimson squash and tennis captain.
